"Why should I care if grandma dies, I am an individual and I only care about what benefits me" isn't a winning attitude. In more group oriented societies they got the situation under control quickly and reopened. In diverse and individualist countries the crisis drags on.

My grandmas want life to continue as normal, rather than let tyranny run rampant. They must be crazy old coots, eh?

Tyranny is living in a country that has rampant tropical disease spreading. If I wanted to live in a country with bat viruses circulating I would move to India where prices are lower.

Took me 20 minutes to get my vaccine. It doesn't really bother me if I need boosters.
