Yeah. Honestly both last of us games felt underwhelming to me. It's just the standard zombie/survival genre that's been done to death by movies, TV shows, and games.

Ghost of Tsushima otoh finally answered the long-standing call to make a ninja game based in feudal Japan. Ok, technically the hero is a Samurai but he uses stealthy ninja tactics to defeat the Mongols.

What about Shadow Tactics? I have so many games on Steam that I've never played. I used to get tons of games for free and my library is still flooded with 1000s of unplayed games and Shadow Tactics is one of them. I want to say its a feudal-era game but, I could be wrong.

Seems more like a Commando-style turn-based game rather than stealth. A based stealth game is Deus Ex Human revolutions. I highly recommend it. Fully based and redpilled and has great gameplay.

I tried playing Deus Ex and didn't like it. TBH, the only 3rd person shooter/action type or even FPS games I've ever enjoyed were Marathon and the Mass Effect trilogy.

I loved mass effect too but in hindsight it had a shit ton of pozz. You could try playing MGS V Phantom pain or Tom Clanyc's splinter cell. Both have average stories but great gameplay.

The thing about ME is that while it did have some pozzed shit you, as the player, were not forced into it. I really only enjoyed the ME trilogy for the story--it felt like I was playing Babylon 5. The story is also why I played Marathon and not Doom. Marathon had a really cool story while Doom was more-or-less devoid of story. Doom gameplay was better but, the story is why I play most games.

Games like Starcraft/BW and Myth TFL/Myth II Soulblighter are the games that managed to do both--awesome story and amazing gameplay.

I completely disagree. Even though the genre was done to death, TLoU still felt refreshing. And the main characters - Joel and Ellie - are the heart and soul of the franchise. It's not about the zombies. It's about the fantastically written "father-daughter" relationship between those two characters. The story itself is simple, but the execution and the immersive writing is what makes it so good.

Perhaps. I guess it's just not my cup of tea. The whole story is made somewhat pointless at the end when Joel kills the doctors to save Ellie and he doesn't even tell her the truth. All their bonding becomes meaningless as the player isn't even given the choice as to whether they'll sacrifice Ellie or not.

Again, I just disagree. I completely understood Joel's choice.

All their bonding becomes meaningless as the player isn't even given the choice as to whether they'll sacrifice Ellie or not.

No, it was Joel's choice, not yours as a gamer. Giving the player a choice would have ruined the ending for me.

Does "last of us" have a lesbian gay teenager main character? If so, it seems a little weird to make a video game character gay.
