What professions should a young person go into? And thoughts on Biden's 100-employee vaccine mandate.

This is a large list of professions that do not necessitate being attached to a large corporation. As we've seen in the past few years, corporations can be some of the most fanatical vectors of progressive ideology. It is much better to work for yourself, or for a small business - those with fewer than 100 employees are exempt from Biden's recent vaccine requirements; and iirc those with fewer than 50 are exempt from affirmative action laws.

I'd appreciate any suggestions about the best professions for a young person, or industries that dissidents could easily enter into and cultivate for self-sufficiency.

Jobs for independent contractors or sole proprietor businesses:

  • Trades (electrician, plumber... any others?)

  • Computer skills (hardware technician, programmer [python], web developer, cloud engineer)

  • Doctor (dentist)

  • Lawyer

  • Craftsman (making clothing, textiles, soaps, wooden crafts... what else?)

  • Artisanal manufacturer (e.g. watchmaker)

  • Farmer (probably best suited for small-scale gourmet foods)

  • Yoga instructor/Personal trainer

  • Investor, Day trader, or Cryptocurrency speculator

  • Real estate agent?

  • Consultant of some kind

  • Trucker/Driver

  • What others?

Small businesses with <50 employees:

  • Barbershop or Salon

  • Restaurant

  • Small software / video game dev company

  • Landscaping company

  • Many trades - roofing, remodeling, plumbing, possibly construction

  • What others?

Businesses that would require more than >50 employees and would be unlikely to be performed by dissidents:

  • Large-scale resource extraction, such as mines (although maybe it could be possible to operate some mines with fewer people?)

  • Mass production of industrial goods, especially complicated products like cars or computers (it might be possible to do limited runs of handcrafted artisan-style products, but they would be much more expensive)

Any others?

As an economist, taking into account everything I know, which is certainly more than most, these would be my choices:

Doctor of NATURAL MEDICINE

Craftsman (making clothing, textiles, soaps, wooden crafts... what else?)

Artisanal manufacturer (e.g. watchmaker)

Farmer (probably best suited for small-scale gourmet foods)

All of these will be helpful under the current system as well as a totalitarian tyrannical regime, or after a Carrington event which should happen soon.

All this said, one dilemma here is that by advising young right-wingers to not join or start large companies, we would be shutting them out from considerable cultural power.

What are your thoughts on this? Also, what is your stance on conservatives running for public office, or joining organizations run by the government?

Joining a large company, same as joining organizations run by government are near suicidal ideas for a conservative. TPTSNB are making sure that woke leftism dominates everywhere they can reach. The only places they can't reach are small private spheres of activity.

Starting a large company is an oxymoron: you start small, and if it's tremendously successful, it will grow big. But being run by conservatives, it will be somewhat successful at best and therefore stay small to medium. Again, TPTSNB.

Conservative employees tend to be more productive than liberals. I'm hoping this mandate causes many of these large businesses to lose a chunk of their best employees. If this happens those people will be snapped up by small business. this could lead to a small-business revolution as there is a high chance the available worker pool exceeds what can be absorbed by existing small companies. In addition, this could potentially lead to a VERY noticeable decline in quality of service/product from large companies which, would push consumers toward small business.

    Agreed, they will never be able to automate the vlookup or rolling forecast or annual budget. Anaplan was supposed to be the future, but it turned out to be not much more than a cloud version of a spreadsheet.

    it doesn't benefit society directly at all but it's very isolated from the system and has the potential to make bank.
