In fact, there was a Jewish diplomat who reported to his superior that he could free all Jews from Germany if he paid the NSDAP $1m, and the response was to leave it alone because when the nations would be divided after the war, the Jews need an argument why Palestine should belong to them. I'm not sure about the exact source, but I believe it was featured in Probing the Holocaust.

(I'm not saying it was 6 million Jews, or that the NSDAP intended to kill them, but that doesn't take anything away from this point.)
