Excellent post. If it wasn't clear to anyone, Dr. Caveman chose to end his own life.

I never knew him, so I don't know his despair, but never, ever give the enemy the satisfaction of witnessing your pain. No doubt the subhuman scum behind the doxxing are giddy with self-pleasure knowing the death they've inflicted and are emboldened.

Realy wtf? why not just move house or something. Seems drastic step to take over antifa doxing some racist meme.

He was on the spectrum 100%.

He's intelligent and doing work in a highly specialised field of academia but has the inability to hide his non-elite views, red flag 1. He naively doesn't understand you shouldn't post personal information on the internet especially if you have low status/dissident views, red flag 2. Once he got doxxed he immediately killed himself, this is an obvious overreaction to neurotypicals but not for neurodivergent people with anxiety disorders (massive overlap with ASD), people who are avoidant and such will often do drastic things when they're afraid and don't know what to do.

Just from a couple points it's very easy to tell this guy was autistic.

Was there anything suspicious about his death, I mean he did just get doxxed?

He was not just based in Chicago, but also in one of the most liberal areas in the country

He stated on his Twitter that he had to keep his views secret in real life, and the fact that he had a Twitter at all suggests that he was looking for contact with sane people he just couldn't find IRL.

So he probably felt very isolated and might not have had even one non-woke friend or family member to turn to when everything went down.

a lot of assumptions

[–]Ponderer[S] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I think it's just one assumption: that he felt alone. To be fair I can't prove it, but it explains things.

Maybe antifa got him. I wouldn't even be against that theory, I just don't see any more proof for it. If he was standing firm, why close his accounts?

Fair point but not enough proof either way.

Dunno, doubt it though. Usually nothing comes out of being doxxed unless you're super high profile (even then it's just like spam phone calls and stuff like that, pretty much never anything serious). This is just a random guy, he could have possibly lost his job but that's the worst that would have happened. Very much doubt some random antifa killed him or something.

Thanks for the response. And yeah, I can't help but think if he just decided to drive out of Chicago and take a month or two to cool off, he'd be fine today.

Also, I looked it up and apparently Evanston votes Democratic at a rate of 90% and even has a reparations program in place. This dude was really in the belly of the beast.

Quality post.

  1. Keep your edgy accounts separated completely, including any email addresses associated with them, assume that the platforms are compromised and staff will leak your email to antifa.
  2. Don't use twitter at all, ever.
  3. Don't use your real name on the internet at all anywhere ever.

Keep your edgy accounts separated completely, including any email addresses associated with them, assume that the platforms are compromised and staff will leak your email to antifa.

This is really important. Ideally I would use them on different browsers, log-in sessions, maybe even different devices with separate IPs.

Don't use twitter at all, ever.

I think this depends on your threat model. There's some people who use it to spread a message or useful information (like https://twitter.com/Peter_Nimitz for example). But definitely do a cost-benefit analysis.

I also have to wonder if social media as a whole will turn against dissidents at some point, and when and how extensive that might be.

Don't use your real name on the internet at all anywhere ever.

Agreed in principle. Some may make exceptions for career reasons or friends and family. Those who do that should be extremely careful what they put on other accounts they have. And using your real name for any non-essential reason is very foolish.

This article is particularly illuminating:

I will get you leftist swine have gloated about this, done the stupid crab dance emoji, etc. I hope one day we can see their soft tyranny and raise them.

For those who can't open the link, it just seems to be a lefty journo criticizing the guy for his tweets.

[–]Richard_Parker 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

yes, but it so recounts how the left galvanized an online mob with pitchforks....

[–]Fonched 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

What triggered the doxxing event in the first place? Was he just a random target they were able to stumble upon, or posted something they felt went too far?

[–]Ponderer[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Good question. I'm not sure. I think he was semi-popular e-celeb, and being a neurologist made him a high-value target. Also, him posting "I am a neurologist who specializes in small animal brains who works at a university in Evanston Chicago" (albeit not all at the same time) narrowed things down a lot and made him low-hanging fruit.
