Well, they are both right and wrong to fear the emergence of white nationalists. On the one hand, studys have shown that 23% of republican men have sympathys for white nationalism, and the real number is probably higher than that. There is the potential that these sentiments could turn into a real political movement. On the other hand, the number of active white nationalists is extremely small, and mostly consists of try-hards like the KKK and neo-nazis.

Oh, and the DHS is a bullshit department that serves no purpose that wasn't already being covered by other agencys. It was created in the aftermath of the 9/11 false flag attacks as a form of 'security theater'. The DHS also habituated the American people to having their privacy and personal space violated. That department has no reason to exist.
