One of the most troubling aspects of the recent 'Right Wing Domestic Terrorism' moral panic has been the ramping up of the role of the ADL with law enforcement. They were always involved -- despite being known for breaking the law on numerous occasions -- but it was my understanding that a while ago the authorities were trying to distance themselves from these obviously partisan groups like the SPLC and the ADL.

Good to see a random telegram channel get a mention in a major national news story. Can any of the Feds who monitor this sub get us into the next story? I want the name 'literalotherkin' repeated in the press just because it would be funny.

Well, they are both right and wrong to fear the emergence of white nationalists. On the one hand, studys have shown that 23% of republican men have sympathys for white nationalism, and the real number is probably higher than that. There is the potential that these sentiments could turn into a real political movement. On the other hand, the number of active white nationalists is extremely small, and mostly consists of try-hards like the KKK and neo-nazis.

Oh, and the DHS is a bullshit department that serves no purpose that wasn't already being covered by other agencys. It was created in the aftermath of the 9/11 false flag attacks as a form of 'security theater'. The DHS also habituated the American people to having their privacy and personal space violated. That department has no reason to exist.
