I will just accelerate my plans to separate myself from society.

IMO everyone should be making at least some basic plans towards this. If someone can shut off your utilities for not taking a vaccine, rest assured that's not going to be the last thing they'll ask you to do.

    Any advice btw?

I think I'm going to make a thread on this. Taking steps away from the grid. Probably later tonight if I can fit it in my Monday.

Not the OP, but on what specifically?

    Gotcha, thanks for clarifying.

I'll try to get a pass through underground channels first

The future covidpass will be digital. You will scan a QR code on your phone. I suppose it could still be obtained through underground, like by bribing the lady at walgreens or buying it from a sketchy clinic.

What will you do when scanning a covidpass is required to have your power and water turmed on or to buy groceries?

    [–]Ponderer 6 insightful - 2 fun6 insightful - 1 fun7 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

    Some thoughts:

    • Stockpile food / grow food

    • Stockpile water / rainwater catchment / well / water filter

    • Solar panels for electricity

These are the things we need to be thinking about. If you can be forced to take a vaccine or else your utilities will be turned off, rest assured that's not the last thing you'll be forced to do.

    [–][deleted] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Everyone should be able to live for a month without leaving home. Food, fuel, & water. That's saved my ass so many times when it floods here or whatever comes up. It's just a good practice. And fuel isn't just for your car, what's the point of having tubers, beans, etc. if you don't have the fuel to spend hours cooking them?

    grow food

I love gardening, but you need a lot of light for most things you want to eat. I also don't have nearly enough room even if I had enough light. If you can grow food and you're not, you should start. Pests, animal life, and disease are an issue too, things we like to eat, so does a lot of other stuff. Better have that sorted out too.

    Solar panels for electricity

I think I'd want a generator that could run biodiesel instead. Solar panels are pretty vulnerable, need batteries, and they're relatively weak. Also it's technology you might not be able to maintain.

    water filter

Especially filters, I agree with the other water options too, and I'd also suggest learning how to construct a natural filter from sand and rocks. And bleach, which can be used to sterilize water in a pinch. Don't get non-splash bleach, has extra crap in there.

You already needed to wear the retard mask to enter any building, so the only way to get groceries was through Instacart. Perhaps there are other services too, but you basically need someone who will wear the mask for you.

The vax is a little more iffy, because then you don't want much contact with the contaminated deliverer.

    [–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Gloving up to go through groceries sounds like a pain in the ass to avoid it, but is sort of an option. Maintaining a little bit of exposure would keep resistances up against it, theoretically, since you would be exposed in smaller amounts and able to build as you go with immune response.

Moderna, the mRNA vaccines work best and Moderna has the highest dose and seems slightly more effective than Pfizer. Pfizer is almost as good and the difference is negligible. The rest of the vaccines are a big step down.

    [–]TheJamesRocket 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (11 children)

Imagine being so ignorant that you support a mRNA vaccine that literally alters your own genetic code.

    Imagine thinking mRNA alters DNA.

    [–]Nombre27 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retrovirus

A retrovirus is a type of virus that inserts a copy of its RNA genome[a] into the DNA of a host cell that it invades, thus changing the genome of that cell.

    [–]Blackbrownfreestuff[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

What does that have to do with the vaccines?

    [–]Nombre27 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Retroviruses are RNA viruses that alter DNA. OP suggested that mRNA (which is just RNA with certain modifications) is incapable of altering DNA. It is not.

CRISPR-CAS uses a guide RNA (gRNA) that targets and can modify DNA.

    [–]Blackbrownfreestuff[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Are u sure that retroviruses are the same as mRNA?

    [–]Nombre27 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

They are and are not the same. They're both RNA, messenger RNA (mRNA) is simply a designation for RNA that is supposed to be converted into a protein. RNA viruses behave exactly the same when they infect a cell. They either have their own polymerases that replicate their genome or they hijack our polymerase. After infecting a cell, the viral genome also has it's proteins produced. Whether it's from DNA or RNA is largely irrelevant, if it's RNA then it skips transcription and can immediately produce proteins that are then packaged and put together as virions which usually go on to lyse or leak from a cell. Although this depends on whether it's a positive or negative sense RNA virus. Overall the variations from DNA or RNA and positive or negative sense simply mean a few more steps, but the end result is the same. For positive sense RNA viruses, they're basically mRNA.

Yes mRNA often has modifications at the beginning and end to make it more stable, signaling sequences, and other features relevant for whatever protein is encoded, but given what I've described above regarding how RNA viruses, and viruses in general, behave, the differences between a retrovirus and mRNA is pretty much taxonomical.

Retroviruses are RNA viruses that are capable of inserting themselves into a DNA genome. By doing this they allow the usually permanent propagation of themselves.

One of the more well-known retroviruses that does this is HIV.

    Does that answer your question?

    [–]Blackbrownfreestuff[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Ok so keep it simple, is the mRNA vaccine going to change my DNA, yes or no?

What about johnson & johnson vaccine, yes or no?

    [–]Nombre27 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Depends on if the ingredients, primarily the RNA sequence, are actually what is listed in the vaccine. I'm pointing out that RNA can alter DNA and that what the OP said is factually incorrect.

Article from May 12 2021: Strongest Evidence Yet Shows SARS-CoV-2 May Insert Itself Into The Human Genome

    The study cited:

SARS-CoV-2 RNA reverse-transcribed and integrated into the human genome

Prolonged SARS-CoV-2 RNA shedding and recurrence of PCR-positive tests have been widely reported in patients after recovery, yet these patients most commonly are non-infectious1–14. Here we investigated the possibility that SARS-CoV-2 RNAs can be reverse-transcribed and integrated into the human genome and that transcription of the integrated sequences might account for PCR-positive tests. In support of this hypothesis, we found chimeric transcripts consisting of viral fused to cellular sequences in published data sets of SARS-CoV-2 infected cultured cells and primary cells of patients, consistent with the transcription of viral sequences integrated into the genome. To experimentally corroborate the possibility of viral retro-integration, we describe evidence that SARS-CoV-2 RNAs can be reverse transcribed in human cells by reverse transcriptase (RT) from LINE-1 elements or by HIV-1 RT, and that these DNA sequences can be integrated into the cell genome and subsequently be transcribed. Human endogenous LINE-1 expression was induced upon SARS-CoV-2 infection or by cytokine exposure in cultured cells, suggesting a molecular mechanism for SARS-CoV-2 retro-integration in patients. This novel feature of SARS-CoV-2 infection may explain why patients can continue to produce viral RNA after recovery and suggests a new aspect of RNA virus replication.

Supposedly they think this might be incorrect and due to genetic artifacts, but who knows. It's molecular biology and requires further study and validation to determine what is happening. Obviously those people are still shedding the virus despite no longer being infectious, so the question is why.

These viruses contain more then rna

    [–]Nombre27 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That doesn't change the validity of what I said. RNA can in fact alter DNA, and there are multiple mechanisms that achieve this.

As far as the damage viruses are capable of doing, it's their genome that enables all of it, so it is a big contributory factor. Without it they likely wouldn't be able to multiply and continue infecting more cells, amongst the other things that their genome and proteins may do.

I've already had covid delta, so the effectiveness is irrellevant to me. I have antibodies. I'm looking for long term safety. Which one is least likely to cause something weird to happen 10 years from now?

Edit: I realize not everyone has gotten the covid, so for them, the calculus is different.

mRNA vaccines seem to be the safest. They are by far the cleanest vaccines made so far, they pretty much do exactly what is needed and nothing else. They are the most precise vaccines developed.

I've spent weeks being very very uncomfy in the wilderness just for fun. Both desert landscapes and the great lakes area level cold. I have no issues with boondocking for months or years if needed. I doubt I will need to do that though because there are millions of people that are going to get royally pissed off (and looking for 'alternative answers') when totalitarian tactics roll out.

For me? It's Moderna. The best covid™️ vaccine. I even ask for extra jabs and the Walgreens staff is so friendly and more than willing to oblige.

One time I asked for a Moderna jab and they gave me three. I laughed and said, "Wow, three for free!" and the nice friendly Walgreens pharmacist laughed and said, "I'm going to call you 3-for-free!". We laughed together.

Now the staff greets me with "hey it's 3-for-free!" and ALWAYS give me three jabs. It's such a fun and cool atmosphere at my local Walgreens pharmacy, I go there at least 3 times a week for jabs and pcr tests, 1-2 times for Pfizer on the weekends, and maybe once for JnJ when I'm in a rush but want to feel safe and show that I believe in the $cience!, it's fast, and can match my daily coof fearing needs.

I even jab my dog with science juice, it's that safe! What a great pharmacy.
