Australia has actually handled the pandemic really well. They have not had the virus spread much at all, while largely remaining open. Not letting people full of jungle diseases walk straight into your country is sensible.

The virus doesn't spread much in Australia because of its climate, not because of lockdowns.

Utter garbage. We have every climate in Australia. Temperate, mild, tropical, coastal, desert, arid.

Where do you get this shit?

Yes we have a wonderful snow season. Great skiing. I recommend Thredbo and Perisher. We also have pretty brutal and cold winters.

What did you think the entire country was just a fucking desert?

how much of australia is desert

35 per cent of Australia's landscape. Apart from Antarctica, Australia is the driest continent in the world. About 35 per cent of the continent receives so little rain, it is effectively desert.

That's a fair amount of desert.

No one lives there which is the entire point.

Ah, that's probably the trick. Here in California, we effectively live in a seasonal desert, but we keep importing more people than we have water.

The Australian government seems extraordinarily open about considering Australians to be animals it owns. NZ may be worse, but still...
