Good post. As always the best thing is to focus on the things you can control in your life rather than the external and larger things which you have no control over and could depress or inspire you. You can however make yourself your own White pill by improving your own situation and becoming the best man or woman you can be.

We're always going to analyze the world and notice bigger trends and comment on them and that's fine but making them the difference between your own happiness and desire to move forward vs despair is a recipe for disaster.

In T2 Sarah carves 'fate' into a table before she goes to kill Dyson and John explains to the machine that it was a phrase Kyle Reese taught her. 'Our fate is not set. We have no fate but what we make for ourselves.'

I'm not convinced that any mention of 'fate' is a Terminator reference.

That would qualify, imo.
