I have friends who have touted the "bad for the environment" argument as to why they don't want kids. I'm always at the point of bringing up African birth rates and IQ, and saying "Given all this, what are the weighted odds of your child having a marginally bad impact on the environment, vs they themselves solving the environment problem?"

I know better. Instead, I just say "our population is increasing either way, at least don't make this a reason" or "maybe your kids would solve the environment problem"
