Let’s set the scene. The year is 2039 News headlines across America and the world read it out “Donald Trump is dead”. The cause I won’t give into, but needless to say it’s controversial, as usual. The man was a controversial and widely disliked president, it is similar to the death of Reagan and Thatcher. Only something beyond mere mourning Reaganites and Thatcherites happen

A plentiful amount of people, all of whom were heavy sympathizers & followers of the late president, claim he isn’t dead. That he has merely went into hiding, in order to fight against the “corrupt marxist democrats”, and that one day, he shall return, and retake his rightful seat as president, send all the democrats & critics of him to prison and make america great again

This doesn’t just become a fringe belief, but after a long time, from a mixture of echo chambers, conspiracy theories & propaganda, it becomes a widespread belief among his former supporters

Shortly after his death, Trumpism is not just a mere cult of personality, it becomes an actual cult

Flash forward to 10+ years

There is at least 1 trumpist temple in every county in every red state.

Trumpist preachers hold sermons declaring things such as liberalism, leftism & being a member of the democrats as “sinful” & actively proselytize. As well of speak of Trump’s inevitable return, and pray to him. With rituals including the use of Hydroxychlorine.

Christianity is no longer the dominant religion of the Republican Party, but rather trumpism.

Trumpists take holy pilgrimages to former trump owned property, such as Trump towers or his various casinos.

Trump temples gain the same tax exemptions & freedom of religion protections other religions get

Of course, some may see this as an unrealistic or joke scenario but I am genuinely wondering. And I wouldn’t say it’s completely out of the question. Considering 55% of the Republican Party no longer supports science, and plenty are self admitted conspiracy theorists, I wouldn’t put this scenario out of the question

It doesn’t have to be as extreme as I explained it out to be, but let’s just get back to a TLDR

Donald Trump dies, some supporters believe him to just be in hiding and not truly dead, and eventually attempt to form a religion around Trump. How popular would it get? How long would it last? And how would this trump religion operate?
