By 2050 – that’s less than 30 years from now – the Democratic Republic of Congo will be home to close to 200 million people (including 30 million in the Kinshasa metropolitan area alone), the population of Abidjan in Côte d’Ivoire will surpass the 10 million threshold and four Sahel countries will see a three-fold increase in their inhabitants. Relative to other continents, such a population explosion is unprecedented in human history, demographers say. No doubt, provided that we put it in context.

The Congo has a gdp per capita of $580. It's stupid to praise population growth when they're just creating more poor people that are worth less than the cellphones they literally walk around with.

HIV and Ebola both originate from Congo. There are plenty of undiscovered diseases that will find its way to the population to keep their numbers down.

Your "optimism" is belied by the facts that HIV hasn't really done enough to keep the numbers down and has spread to cause problems in the rest of the world.

You can thank Belgium for that. They built the railroads that helped HIV spread faster throughout Congo, to other African nations and around the world.
