Listening to this at the moment. I have always appreciated the neo-primitivist's critique of modern society if only as a counter to the incessant propaganda of the technology boosters.

Rather than regecting technology altogether I am more a fan of appropriate use. For example, in order to score brownie points on the world stage, my government is subsidizing electric vehicles. A better response would be to design urban areas in such a way that vehicle use is minimized.
