Thanks for this great post. There are a ton of movies you've listed that I've never seen so I look forward to watching some of them. Do you have a particular film you think I should start with?

I'd like to contribute to this thread by posting my old film list that I shared out before reddit got taken down. I posted it over on saidit quickly to preserve it and I'm I glad I did.

If you haven't seen it, give Come and See a whirl. It's a grimy war movie that somehow manages to feel authentic despite being shot on a really cheap budget. I think they had access to surplus WWII equipment when they filmed it.

It's full of symbolism that goes over my head I afraid. I would love Greg or Frodi to review it.

  • The House of Rothschild (1934)

It was originally made to celebrate the success of the eponymous bankers but they behave so badly in the movie the Nazis actually used large portions of it as propaganda. Devon Stack reviewed it. His review is fun to listen to, even if you don't watch the film.

  • The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz (1974)

Jew / Goy relationships go sour in this comedy involving purchasing land by a lake. Both sides claim the other treated them unfairly which means evens things up I suppose. THe TRS crowd like it because it confirms their prejudices. I've got it on my watch list to see what the fuss is about.

  • Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)

A masculinist movie with a Christian theme that I enjoyed. It's not realistic and feels allegorical, bordering on grind-core. I've linked to a Counter Currents review.

I appreciated your list as well. I'll add some more movies as I think of them.

It is at least in part about the infamous Dirlewanger brigade right? While I sympathize with the German side I am quite adverse to Hitler and well aware of moral shortdomjgn (as well as strategic blunders). The Dirlewanger brigade disgusts me, but it also disgusted officers in the Warren Ss and Here alike.

Very loosely based on the Dirlewanger division. Despite the violence, I didn't feel it was anti-German although it could certainly be used as such. I felt it was more about the confusion and chaos of war.

I have been meaning to watch it. Will have to do so when the lady is out of the house.
