There's an intellectual strain that is critical of Israel on the left -- and on the right BTW! -- which is popular with the grassroots and also with various identity groups especially Muslims but at the top they don't really matter. The Democrats have different tactics in America but they're every bit as rabidly Zionist as the right is. Name one actual piece of anti-Israel policy being discussed by the powerful left in America? If you say the Iran deal you're a fool or a jignat.

Look at what happened to a figure like Corbyn in the left who was consistently anti-Zionist and obviously had real not affected sympathy for Islam and Muslims in the ME. Well the Jewish dominated media -- left and right BTW! -- just utterly destroyed him maligned him day and night. That's what happened to the last genuinely anti-Israel politician from memory in a position of power.

Let's also not forget that there's actually a strong and long lasting tradition of Israel skepticism and criticism of Jews on the right. It's always been there but Jews just use their power to marginalize and excommunicate those types from the mainstream right even though their ideas are popular and resonate with conservatives. Ultimately there's no reason right or left necessarily will be more or less consistent with what Jews perceive as their interests.

It's important not to get too bogged down in the ideological weeds when analyzing Jewish power. They don't think left vs right they think in terms of Jewish interest.
