Both Japan and Germany unconditionally surrendered. Hitler could not end the war without unconditional surrender.

Japan surrendering unconditionally instead of continuing to fight after the atom bombs dropped saved most of the islands. There would have been a full scale invasion + more atomic bombs dropped if they tried to drag the war out longer and Japan might not even exist today had it came to that (especially with the U.S having a complete naval embargo on the islands. They would have starved to death).

If Germany had surrendered in 1943, it's a fact a ton of lives would have been saved.

Your original post implied you thought Germany could ask for peace and everything would go back to normal. Surrendering meant complete loss of Germany sovereignty. They weren't going to do that until they were left with no other choice.

Surrendering meant complete loss of Germany sovereignty.

What does this mean? Germany would have been occupied? German people couldn't live in Germany? Germany has no Army?

Again, looking at what happened to Italy & Japan, none of those conditions appear to exist. Unless you're implying that Germany should have been allowed to keep the territories they invaded and expelled after 1939, then no, I do not support them annexing France, Norway or Polish lands.

Edit: Which sounds like a crazy request anyway, since I doubt France would be ok sitting at the victory table, with half their country missing.

They weren't going to do that until they were left with no other choice.

They had already waged a two front war at that point and were getting beaten. Surrender was inevitable.
