Your idea is "let's base a religion around getting taller and raising our IQ"

Religions are not born out of a desire for physical things, they are formed from sages fulfilling our natural desire for something outside of this life

I get the feeling that Christianity was just another Dionysian cult in the mediterranean that was adopted by a pack of renegade, lower class Jews, alienated from the Rabbinate.

They over time added various features to the legend in order to sell it better to Jews and gentiles. They added things like he's the messiah and kings came to pay homage to him as a baby to woo Jews. The Jews then excommunicated them from the Synagogues, so they took their act to Greece.

There they added things like the virgin birth and the son of God to woo gentiles whose pagan faith had many such stories.

Thanks for that. I enjoy listening to religious scholars and historians bounce ideas about even if I don't always agree with them.

My own take is that religion, although it influences culture, is also constrained and influenced by the social conditions and the culture (which at its deepest level is driven by biology) in which it takes root. Christianity thus became Hellenized and later Germanized as it spread through Europe. Recently it has become liberalized with God seen as a sort of ur-SJW to be used as yet another weapon to aid the globalists in managing their human-cattle farm.

If our society adopts white nationalist values the Church will follow. Greg Johnson puts it well.

Counter Currents:

The church has long trimmed its sails to the winds of expediency. When there were absolute monarchs, the church preached the divine right of kings. When there was slavery, it bade slaves to obey their masters. When there was patriarchy, it taught wives to obey their husbands.

It is tempting to condemn this tendency as mere political opportunism, but that would be a mistake. The church has always been supple at bending to the reigning political and intellectual orthodoxies because, ultimately, its kingdom is not of this world. In spite of aberrations like the Social Gospel movement, the church has always been more concerned with saving individual souls than with social justice. Thus churchmen regard sucking up to the secular powers as a small price to pay to stay in the soul-saving business. [Cont...]

I've posted a number of similar articles examining Christianity from a nationalist perspective at s/ChristianRight. Counter Currents also has a collection of writings on the subject as does The Occidental Observer
