What is the genotypic IQ of Southeast Europeans?

Bulgaria has an average IQ of 91. Romania is 90. Greece is 92. Serbia is 89. Bosnia is 82.

I understand nations like Serbia and Bosnia have suffered in recent times which could explain their sub-90 IQ on average. So what do you think their genotypic IQ is?

Well, IQ is a compound of education and raw intelligence. Someone who is smart but poorly educated would get an average score, while somone who is less smart but better educated can potentially get a higher score.

But as for the Bosnians, lots of them are basically just Turks; They are a dark, dumpy looking group. It wouldn't be surprising that they have low IQ.

IQ is 80% heritable as an adult and only 20% is affected by the environment. A low of 82 is shocking even if you barely had any education. When comparing to the IQ of Germanics at least.

Apparently, only an estimated 50,000 Turks are in Bosnia and Herzegovina. A country of 3.3 million people.

More than 96% of population of Bosnia and Herzegovina belongs to one of its three autochthonous constituent peoples: Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats.

Turkey at least has an average IQ of 89 so it's clearly awful environmental issues on the scale of sub-Saharan African education effecting Bosnia. Southeast European genotypic IQ itself must be low, I'm wagering their average IQ would be around 92-96 with good education.

At this moment, an African-American who is 20% white has a higher average IQ than the average Bosnian. A mulatto has the same average IQ as Greeks and higher than Romanians.

The Flynn effect shows that IQ scores can change radically within a distinct population over the course of several generations. This demonstrates that ''environmental changes resulting from modernization... have meant that a much larger proportion of people are more accustomed to manipulating abstract concepts such as hypotheses and categories than a century ago.'' Modern education must have a significant role in this.

Race mixing with Turks would explain much of it. It must have been a lot though to see such a massive decrease even below Turkey.

That highlights how overrated IQ is. American blacks have a higher IQ than many well functioning nations which American blacks would not be able to create themselves.

Where you're right is that there are likely other cognitive traits Bosnians have over African-Americans besides IQ that aid them in building better societies even if African-Americans currently have a slightly higher average IQ.

Where you're wrong is that, assuming African-Americans had the foundational infrastructure, they could likely run societies on par with other nations around 85 average IQ such as Morocco, Saudi Arabia and maybe even Iran. Sub-Saharan Africans with inferior IQ's than them had done empire building such as with Mali.

Relatively lower economic development in post-soviet countries (plus corruption), wars in the Balkans, Islam, and some Turkish admixture all lower IQ somewhat but it's still lower genotypically than northern Euro

These lands have suffered massive brain drain in the last 3 decades. Balkans are less smart to begin with due to evolving in easier climates and the turkish occupation had a strong dysgenic effect

The climate wasn't a hindrance 2-3 thousand years ago.

Turks had a policy of abducting the brightest and more beautiful children for their army and their harems.

As for modern times, Greece exports scientists by the thousands and substitutes them with unskilled workers from the third world. The widespread corruption and the politicians caring only for pleasing foreign governments have contributed greatly to this.
