I admire his courage.

He began his research as an evolutionary biologist and despite ostracism from the academic community, and overwhelming hostility from the wider society, continued with his work. From what I have heard he was utterly unprepared for the invective he received which initially he found very difficult.

Sadly young academics seem to be far more captured by the system.

He was being subjected to abuse in the classroom as well of all places. There's an old video which I can't find now one of his students took in a class and there's several students in an introductory psychology course yelling at him and reading a profile from the SPLC and asking him if they were safe because he was a 'White supreemist'.

He, of course, handles it with patience and tact.
