Well evoking battles of old is usually a good motivator, they even compare the current anti-COVID measures to WW2 in many countries. They are obviously functionally different, the issues of today are societal decay taken advantage of by subversion and parasitism while the main era of the Christo-Islamic conflicts were direct conflict between two distinct civilisations. If there is use in use this type of rhetoric, why not I guess?

For example comparing our current fight to the Austrians in the great Turkish war, Eastern Europe vs the Mongols, the French at the battle of tours and the Spanish vs Islamic domination of Iberia. Some might say no because it could be laughed at due to the comfort of our situation compared to ancestors 100s of years ago. But i'd disagree,I'd say our current fight is just as hard fought and as crucial as our ancestors.

They were people in power fighting to defend their sovereignty from external threats, we are already conquered and fighting for the very existence of our people as a race without having any power for ourselves. We are fighting the highest of any existential struggle possible.

This is an internal degeneracy problem, not an external enemy problem. The most apt comparison would be the late Roman empire, which in many respects collapsed completely on its own despite the presence of good men who were both willing and able to do their duty if only they were permitted to.

The issue is that the enemy is hidden through social manipulation. You cannot mobilize a counter attack when the danger is hidden to so many people. We have been programmed to not acknowledge reality.

People will not fight because they do not have a real sense of what has been stolen from them.
