The White Man's Burden is a thing once again, apparently

So, I'm discussing with a black man on Reddit. It's a very long thread, but essentially we got to the point where he was saying that I, as a white man, have an obligation to 'listen to the black community' and 'fix' society at their bidding until they say (and only when they say!) they've reached 'equality.'

I don't know about you, but that sounds an awful lot like the White Man's Burden to me. The idea that whites are the superior race and have a 'duty' given to us by God, by nature, by the universe to take care of the lesser races. I don't want that; they should take care of themselves, by themselves.

Then, he ends by rhetorically asking what whites have ever lost in this backwards societal slide we call 'progress.'

I didn't read it, but he means because, in his opinion, your race destroyed the world you have the responsibility to fix it. That's how all blacks and most non-whites think.

All blacks? What? I've met several blacks who don't view the world this way, only sub 90 IQ idiots believe whites destroyed the world.

What exactly is your infatuation with IQ? IQ is just a way to measure how good someone will progess in his economic life. It has little to do with how political opinions. The idea that something/opinion i don't like = low IQ has to die out.

IQ is a quantitative measure of intelligence you fool. Intelligence built the society around you.

Only the materialistic aspects of society. Anything else has nothing to do with IQ.

Do you consider philosophy to be materialistic too? Because philosophers who shaped the modern world didn't make certain discoveries about the human condition while having subpar IQ.

Sir Francis Bacon invented the scientific method. Nietzsche is taught in Europe as a required class in many areas. Highly influential philosophers like Kant and Schopenhauer. Plato, Aristotle, the list goes on. Discoveries about the meaning of values and existentialism.

Yes, we've been having a back and forth of probably like five to ten replies each. He's exhausting to argue with. He insists that whites have more equality to give him and his people and that we shouldn't stop giving until he and all other blacks say to stop.

Have you tried explaining to him that equality he wants will never be achieved due to racial differences in intelligence?

I didn't try that tact, though I doubt he would've bought it. I did point out that letting someone else be in control of when they've "had enough equality" is just bullying essentially. It's like letting yourself become a vassal state and hoping that if you're good enough for long enough, they'll give you back your autonomy.
