Perhaps the reason India's gdp decreased so drastically is because of the industrial revolution in the west, nobody could keep their production against advanced machinery.

British colonization was mostly good for India and claims of exploitation and abuse are greatly exaggerated

India's drop in the share of world GDP is easily explained by Western industrialization. It's also meaningless because such a statement doesn't imply anything about how much India's gdp per capita went up or down during the colonial period
