When confronted with police violence against whites leftists usually just backtrack and claim the issue is about all police brutality not just against blacks. This is of course a lie which is why there are no mass protests or riots when it happens to a white person and minimal news coverage. I don't care how many upvotes it gets on reddit because if this was a black kid it would be the biggest news story and trending #1 on twitter. Protests and riots would have already started.

We should stick to cold, hard logic when analyzing cases like these. The facts are on our side, after all. The facts are definitively not on the side of those claiming some "epidemic" of police brutality.

In this case, I'd suggest doing research on media bias in cases like these; Sean Last has done some great research on racial bias in police shootings, and Zach Goldberg has done some great research on media bias - this graph is particularly relevant in this case.

It's got plenty of attention- the victim was autistic.

The vast swathes of human garbage that populate the "left" cling to and identify with the other undesirables so this will remain popular.

Are you calling someone with autism undesirable?

    [–]JuliusCaesar225Nationalist + Socialist[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Where are the riots and protests?

Why isn't the media covering this?

    Link to media coverage

I'll tell you why, it's because this story about the American police murdering somebody and getting away with it disproves the FALSE liberal narrative that the American police murder people and get away with it!

The entire BLM police brutality narrative is based on a lie that it only happens to blacks and when it does it is because of racism.

Just another helping of the alt-right consistently misunderstanding current events. It doesn't only happen to black people, it happens disproportionately often to black people. This story gets tacked right on to the list of egregious police brutality cases.

I'm actually with you on this one. The moment the right steps out of cold statistical analysis and into emotional fear stories it loses its credibility. They see what the left does in terms of spinning a narrative, and try to replicate it when they don't have control of the media institutions. It won't work.

I always try to "steel man" my opponent's position in cases like these. It's very obvious that a principled leftist would view this as an important case of police brutality that adds weight to the hypothesis of careless, murderous police who don't value human life. He would also note (quite rightly) that a single instance of brutality against whites does not disprove the existence of bias against blacks.

So why is he wrong? Well, a cold look at the data suggests that the main reason blacks are targeted disproportionately is because of differing crime rates. The data also suggest that the vast majority of police interactions don't result in tragedy, and of the ones that do, the vast majority involve an armed suspect. We're talking 10s of people, of which maybe a couple die due to "bias" of some sort. Contrast this with the billions given to Black Lives Matter in order to further the goals of critical race theorists, which involve sweeping cultural changes and the erasure of European tradition, wealth and culture. And for what? There is no "crisis" of police brutality; there's no peculiar uptick in any graph. What there is, though, is a massive surge in media coverage of police brutality, and the right helps push this along simply by covering it.

Fox News: "Anti-Semitic BLM Nazis destroy Chabadnik synagouge"

It doesn't only happen to black people, it happens disproportionately often to black people.

This is false. It only is perceived that way because when it happens to blacks it becomes major news with mass protests. My point is not that there was no media coverage but that there is little media coverage and reaction. It would be the #1 story in the world if the kid was black and the whole narrative would be that the boy was shot by a racist police office. How do we decide when police shoot an innocent person whether or not it was because racism? Easy, was the victim black? If yes, then it is automatically assumed racism.

Ok but the point is that police brutality is a massive issue in America. The racist overtones are outrageous, but basically tangential.

    [–]antireddit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

A massive issue huh. How many times have you been beaten by cops?

    [–]DoubleReverse 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (17 children)

Really? How many times have you caught the coronavirus?

    [–]antireddit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

None. Wonder if that's overblown as well? We're 6 months into a global pandemic that resulted in lockdown measures that are probably going to push the country into a depression. I dont personally know a single person that's died from it. I do know someone who died after contracting the flu.

I've been interrogated by cops by a few times. I've been treated rudely by cops several times. Never physically assaulted by one, but I never violently resisted one that's trying to arrest me or acted aggressively towards one when being questioned, I imagine that's the key, no? Fairly easy to avoid this "massive problem".

I have been physically assaulted by African Americans, have known people personally who were murdered by them and more who were assaulted by them. That's a little trickier to avoid unless of course you simply avoid them, which I've heard is racist. Any tricks on how to avoid this totally not massive problem?

None. Wonder if that's overblown as well?

Believe it or not, things can still matter even if they don't affect you personally.

Any tricks on how to avoid this totally not massive problem?

Yes, plenty, but you geniuses look at any social program other than a racebaiting advocacy group and call it white apologism or a black tax

    [–]antireddit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (14 children)

Believe it or not, things can still matter even if they don't affect you personally.

Totally besides the point. The point is that we can no longer trust the media to properly inform us of the magnitude of a problem. They hype small problems to make them seem like huge problems, manufacture non existent problems, and suppress and censor serious problems. They are controlled by a mostly Jewish self appointed elite that push an agenda.

Yes, plenty, but you geniuses look at any social program other than a racebaiting advocacy group and call it white apologism or a black tax

We already have a ton of expensive social welfare programs targeted at blacks that have been ineffective, and seeing as how were now 30 trillion dollars in debt and facing a depression, we can literally no longer afford more. Some of these social welfare programs helped create the problem. Black violence and crime was nowhere near the epidemic it is now prior to LBJ's great society welfare programs. They are exhibit A in how the road to hell is paved with good intentions. Blacks were better off when they were more self sufficient.

When the US eventually breaks up maybe you guys can solve the riddle of black dysfunction, or allow them to solve it themselves. Good luck with that, but now thanks to your globalist neoliberal warmongering and the above mentioned social programs we're 30 trillion in debt, and because of who controls the media and owns the politicians you'll never successfully tax the internationalist largely Jewish oligarchy that has the wealth to fund such programs.

Right, we spend half our GDP on weaponry but feeding and housing the populace is too expensive. How about we just tax the rich?

    [–]antireddit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

We wont stop this spending or sufficiently tax the rich in order to double down on failed race based social welfare programs for the reasons i already specified, and such spending would be ineffective in solving black dysfunction anyway, so a breakup at this point is our only hope.

Thankfully blm is helping make the case for such a breakup to an increasing number of whites.

    [–]antireddit 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (10 children)

I'm curious what your thoughts are on a break up of the US along racial longs as a cure for unending white racism and black victimization. Would you support such a break up down the road if anti racism measures prove ineffective in solving this supposed problem?

    [–]oneinchterror 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

Lol, what a disingenuous little weasel you are.

It doesn't only happen to black people, it happens disproportionately often to black people.

Disproportionate to what? Not crime/police interactions, which is what matters.

    [–]DoubleReverse 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

    Disproportionate to what?

The total number of police murders, but also population and plenty else.

Not crime/police interactions, which is what matters.

No, what matters is the rampant and unchecked corruption, murder, and abuse of power routinely perpetrated by the American police.

    [–]oneinchterror 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

The total number of police murders, but also population and plenty else.

    That's just straight up false.

No, what matters is the rampant and unchecked corruption, murder, and abuse of power routinely perpetrated by the American police.

Then maybe the movement should have focused on the actual problem of police brutality/unaccountability across the board rather than centering it all around an objectively false narrative of "racism". All BLM's lies have done is turn away many who would have otherwise been on board.

    [–]DoubleReverse 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

You're the ones trying to center it all around racism. Racism is part of the problem, but police brutality is an issue whether it's racially motivated or not.

    [–]oneinchterror 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Lol, we aren't the ones who named the movement "Black Lives Matter". Fuck off.

    [–]DoubleReverse 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's not the same thing, BLM exists independently of the protests. They just support the protests for obvious reasons.

    [–]Jesus 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's because the neoliberals want more autistic people.
