Where does the idea that black communities are "over-policed" come from?

We all know that the evidence suggest that police simply arrest people who commit crime. However, leftists insist that the since the drug war, blacks have been "over-policed". Is there any data to support this leftist view? Haven't seen much of this view as far as data goes.

Figured I'd be more prepared to rebut it if I knew where the hell they're getting this idea (statistically).

It's a lefty cope for the high crime rates of urban black and hispanic areas. Cities have more policeman per capita, so that explains why crime rates are higher for blacks and hispanics

Sometimes they will try to argue that blacks and Hispanics don't commit more crime by bringing up self-reported drug use and drug arrests. The problem is that we know blacks lie on self-reports, and use drugs more often and in riskier environments where they are more likely to be caught

Misused/incomplete statistics about demographic proportions, incarceration rates, arrests, and other criminal data.

People wrongfully/ignorantly assume that every group commits crimes at the same rate, so they come to an incorrect conclusion.

This video spells it out quite well. tl;dw = when looking at demographic proportion, arrests, incarceration, etc., blacks are arrested at the rate you would predict them to be based on their frequency of interactions with the police.

The same happens with gypsies and similar "minorities". They will play the victim card, claim that it's not their fault and it's all because of their "culture". Leftists will flock in to show "solidarity" and the true victims of crime activity will be given a speech about how they should be more tolerant and so on.

As for the "over-policing" claim: If policemen appear near the gypsy ghetto, all gypsies will start attacking them with rocks and guns and try to kill them. When a gypsy commits a crime, he will instantly try to run into the ghetto so that it will be almost impossible to arrest him. They attack the same way even firefighters and ambulance crews.

If you want to see if a group has higher offending rate, look at homicides. They are not affected by stop and search or bias in arrests. You either have a corpse or you don't, youo won't find a murder when you are checking some kids hoody. Also homicide doesn't vary by definition, a real problem with assaults and rapes.

Non Hispanic White murder rates are six times lower than Black.

Even at the same income level black Americans commit more than twice as much crime.

I just recently had this chat with some SJWs on Reddit. They genuinely didn't know the offending difference.
