Aye. The public school system is one of the biggest scams pulled on the public. Imagine convincing people that it's perfectly normal for children to spend the majority of their day away from their parents, and then after coming home, spend another couple hours doing homework.

There's no reason anyone with a iq above 85 couldn't homeschool their children, especially with modern video lectures. I don't need to send my kids to sit in front of a teacher (with their attention divided amongst 30 kids, and thus catering to the lowest common denominator) for 7 hours a day, 5 days a week.

Teaching itself really isn't that hard, the real skill teachers have is babysitting a class of 30 kids, which, if you're just teaching your own kids, is kinda irrelevant...

"Socialisation" is a common excuse, but homeschooling doesn't preclude friendship. That's how society worked for hundreds of years before public schooling became the norm only a few decades ago.
