Yes. When discussing statistics it's super important to keep in mind proportions (amongst other things).

Economically, it's like some boomertards bragging about the absolute GDP being higher despite GDP-per-capita being worse, or cost of living being worse, etc. It's like that saying about "a little knowledge being dangerous" because some people are dumb enough to think they have a complete picture.

Another example is when people say a group is under-represented in a field. Based on what? Do they have equivalent qualifications? Do they score the same? Do they graduate at the same rates? Do they have the same intelligence bell curve? All of these variables act as filters. Instead of people addressing real problems, they like to whine about invisible things like "white privilege" and "systemic discrimination", either of which they never provide evidence for. These people are either so dumb or so malicious that they don't think they ever have to validate their statements of "fact." Simply challenging them to present evidence and then parsing that evidence will usually collapse their house of cards.
