Boomers gonna boom, just wear it, who cares.

Wearing a mask isn't sign of slavery, being deprived of your livelihood for having a political opinion is.

Thank god I'm not the only one. The right is sperging out like absolute Boomers.

Bro you're far from the only one. Every reasonable person I've ever met knows that wearing a mask isn't a fucking form of torture. It's a combination of boomers being pieces of shit and leftists amplifying it to discredit right wingers.

[–]VarangianRasputin 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

For a while I thought we were the minority. The Daily Stormer has been sperging out for months over masks.

Mind you Anglin thinks the literal apocalypse is right around the corner so...

[–][deleted] 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Lol if Israel proposes a temple rebuild project I'll take Anglin more seriously. On that note if I actually was religious, I would say that COVID is divine retribution to boomers- it punishes decadence (kills fat fucks and stock portfolios), stubbornness (wear the fucking mask...), and fucking drives the problems that boomers swept under the rug for 50 years into a frenzy.

Frankly, they deserve this.

Agreed.

In real life I only heard people in their 60s complaining how it's too hot and breathing is harder, that might be a legitimate issue, but on the internet I see all kinds of stupid memes, like how slave owners put masks on their slaves to keep them obedient and shit, how it's literally the new world order, etc.

The other guy made an excellent point about leftists (read: Jews) amplifying that nonsense or sometimes straight up making shit up, like the one where they said metal in the masks (?) are 5G receivers lol

Masks and gloves being socially acceptable is a godsend for any dissident activities

[–]VarangianRasputin 5 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 0 fun6 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Don't care. Seriously, the right is flipping out over a piece of fucking fabric and it's embarrassing. We've picked up a Boomer Talking point and adopted it, which is never good. You can justify your outrage with any philosophical mumbo-jumbo you want, but the fact of the matter is that most of the anti-mask talking points could be applied to seat-belts in cars, and probably were when they were introduced.

The White Race is being breeded out, Blacks are tearing down cultural icons, Jews are rewriting history, etc, and the Right, we great defenders of Western Civilization, are bitching because we have to stay indoors more and wear a mask and gloves. It's pathetic.

TLDR Just wear the mask you spergs.

Don't care. I skip every article about this stupid disease and hate seeing people squabble over it. In my personal life it's seemingly all people talk about and everyone has REALLY strong opinions about it which tend to be conservatives underplay it and want more 'freedom' and liberals think it's the end of the world. I'm so bored.

If I have to hear one more debate about it I'm going to go a little mental.

I'm not American, so correct me if I'm wrong: American anti-Maskers were all on the right/GOP, so this is a concession by orange Daddy.

Why would he concede this if he didn't think that masks are so effective, that the increase in covid they prevent would hurt his reëlection chances?

It is sad that the right in the US is so obsessed with the economy that they are willing to let the virus spread like wildfire for the economy.

[–]Bitchcraft[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

... which in turn hurts the economy again.

In my country (and most other European countries) taking corona seriously is not a left/right thing. The left/right parties have different ideas on the specifics, but the different factions of the parliament have been cooperating exceptionally well. Throughout March/April there was an unspoken agreement in politics to tone the usual shit flinging down a bit, even now it's still not as bad as it would be in a normal year.

America is so fucked.

[–][deleted] 4 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 0 fun5 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

It honestly isn't as much a partisan issue as much as a combination of boomers being stubborn and democrats trying to burn the country down. The state of New York did an appalling job containing the virus from nursing homes and had orders from on high to continue shuffling people in and out of hospice care all courtesy of Cuomo (democrat) and De Blasio (also democrat) despite the danger of doing so. The virus essentially burned through New York and who knows how many people were infected.

Obviously CNN gave an okay for BLM and other "protestors" to rally and gather which further spread the virus not to mention the complete disregard for PPE among journalists and (D) politicians who only do so for the camera.

In short, the American left is only using COVID as a battering ram to get Trump out of office and have been just as bad, if not worse in the case of the BLM riots, as the braindead boomers demanding maskless Walmart.

[–]Bitchcraft[S] 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

That's an interesting perspective, thanks. I'm a bit sceptical crowded BLM protests too, surely there are other ways to protest?

He's stating that it's patriotic to wear masks, not that they are effective. This puts the people who oppose him into conflict, since they hate patriotism and America. He however will not force people to wear them by law, which is what the DNC controlled left is currently pushing for.

Since this does not fit the agenda of control and chaos, and the economic reset, this will be ignored by the media, and changed. Just as you are doing here now.

Donald Trump will never cease to confuse me. It doesn't look like he puts any calculus into his actions but some of them are unreasonably brilliant.

[–]Questionablethe Dumpster Arsonist · 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

He's just a normal president. He has strengths and weaknesses, and a circle of people that help him work these things out. Oh, and a multi trillion dollar media empire opposing him. Which is most likely where the confusion comes into play, since the last time a president faced such open opposition of propaganda was either Carter or Nixon.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

I'm not so sure. He's very difficult to read. His gaffe today saying Ghislaine Maxwell is a nice woman seems like a total failure of judgement but at this point, it wouldn't surprise me if it turned out to be tactically brilliant in ways we can't predict. I don't know if he's "playing 4D chess" or if his instincts are just supernaturally good.

[–]Questionablethe Dumpster Arsonist · 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I too wish Ghislaine Maxwell well. We need her of sound mind, and of good health to testify. As for the president, stating he is not familiar with a case and wishing her well, in most instances this is seen as simply distancing yourself from a case. The only reason this is being skewed as something other than that, is because all of the media is against him.

Back when Bush Jr, was pushing for his illegal invasion and war against Iraq, the media was all over him praising him as being bold and energetic. The man could barley read a teleprompter. Trust me, the way this is being presented to you isn't normal. A statement like this from any other president would have been ignored. It's benign. It meant nothing, and that is how he intended it to be. Dismissive.

They're using the covid crisis to phase away paper money. Soon all currency will be digital and the security apparatus will not only know your identity, but every single on of your purchases, donations and location.

But it's always good to establish a veneer of normalcy while you're still in the System. So for normal purchases just put it on your credit card so you won't give off red flags.

Trump is a greedy New Yorker who cried at the thought of the stock market going down during a lethal pandemic. He's corrupt in my eyes. He's changing his tune now because it's going to get so bad even the mouth breathing conservatives will speak up.

Trump had the most amazing opportunity any right leaning politician has had in a century, he could have called for heavy testing, masks and other measures and sent us all plenty of money, becoming a hero and well liked. Winning a second term would have been a cakewalk, now look at the deep shit he's in with polls showing him losing big in November. He's a failure and now he's hoping we will give him a second chance

In retrospect, as somebody who lives in an area with significant Third World immigration, we probably should’ve been wearing masks and gloves my whole life. It was sad to watch some of my friends who think they’re “based” throw tantrums on this, low key shunning people like me who weren’t getting excited on the anti-mask thing - all while all the majority non-white areas around us had serious outbreaks. Clearly, the only way to show we’re “free” and “elite Western chauvinists” is to tempt the same fate.

Trump’s going to Trump but it was a depressing episode for me, in trying to have faith in people who I had hoped would become /ourguys/.
