Stop gatekeeping. I've seen a lot of these type of posts over the past week, little personal manifestos about how a poster thinks other posters should behave to make saidit a social media utopia. Just be the change you want to see and stop trying to force others to tow the line.

Nothing I've said is utopian and this isn't a manifesto. I want people to have a firm grasp of reality and be rational adults. Debate and discussion are welcomed here and it is part of how we figure out a better future.

    I don't know what that means. Nothing is going to hurt my feelings, my post was just suggestions so that when our content gets to s/all, the other ousted redditors can see that we're not genocidal monsters.

      Why? Because these are shortcuts that save you from having to think for yourself.

      I'm with you here, that's certainly fair. I guess what I'm trying to say is that I don't want s/debatealtright completely unchecked- once you take the brakes off of your institutional mistrust, it can spiral into unhinged conspiracies that are not in touch with reality. Where that line is drawn is subjective and you're right; that's hard for us to come to agreement on.

      But your counterpoint here would be if we're too aggressive with dismissing "conspiracies" then we might miss something seemingly crazy that is actually true, like Mossad running international assassinations and honeypot schemes. Sounds too crazy to be true, but here we are hence we should be careful with dismissal of "optics".

      I was trying to be as diplomatic and reasonable as possible with the OP but obviously there could be tweaks and disagreements on the particulars.

      Some 'unhinged conspiracies not in touch with reality' are actually grounded in reality and can be proven with sources. We are living in a matrix of lies and all major institutions of the west that european people rely on to interpret their reality (academia, media, church, government, business) are compromised by a group of psychopaths. 'That's a cringey conspiracy' is not a refutation. You must actively engage the thesis and provide counterfactuals or you're just tone policing.
