I love a lot of conservative viewpoints and politics but every time I start talking about how much I like the environment and how much time I spend in nature, the conservatives in my life have started giving me a look like I'm a dirty hippie ruining everything. And I had a registered Republican who barely knew me who yelled "LIBERAL" just because I was looking at birds. I love how they want me to believe they are totally logical and rational when they think they have to destroy the environment just because they think liberals are the only ones who should love it.

    It's incredibly how much your views can be shaped just by what it is packaged with.

    I think most conservatives are anti-environmentalist just because it somehow got designated as a "right-wing" position, and shares a platform with religious and social conservatism and nationalism.

    It is weird because conservativism is really about maintaining how things are or how they used to be and upholding traditions. We need to be sustainable to survive long term.
