Twitter above and beyond YouTube is really out of control. Something needs to be done,

There's only one solution, lawsuits: Civil rights violations of 1st Amendment, election tampering, etc. All damages to applied to more lawsuits.

Can't get them on first amendment, as that limits rights of government censorship, although I believe twitter received subsidies. Remove platform immunity, deem them a publisher. Also get them for antitrust, collusion (reddit, youtube, twitter all acted in concert, cordinated strikes...)

I don't understand.

Marsh v. Alabama: When public square is privately owned 1A applies. Social Media is the public square. THAT or the government must provide the public with a place to say whatever the fuck we want. Easier to just tell information "utilities", which were built with public funds, they have to follow 1A. That would be my legal approach. But as our enemies know we need to sue from every angle of attack constantly.

That case is almost 80 years old and pertains to company towns. If I had westlaw or nexis, I could shehardize it. Really I think the best avenue of attack would be antitrust, which itself dicey, but above that removing immu it as a platform. These assholes are publishers, and thus should not receive immunity from defamation. That may chill more free speech though.

That is irrelevant. It's precedent. As I said, there isn't one approach.

Yeah it is relevant. And the precedent hardly applies to what we are talking about. It would be hard to argue that facebook, twitter are acting in the shoes of the government the way a company town does....

I beg to differ.

Social media platforms are not state action. Running and administering a town are. Found this:

Utilities like telephone companies, electricity, etc. all are regulated and have First Amendment protection. The electric company, though private, cannot cut off your power if you're a communist.

If we ever seize government. But I am not sure I believe in freedom speech, certainly not now as it is conceived by most. Rap music, porn, Katy Perry, no I don't think so....

Free speech worked, until it did not. I do not think things like rap music or porn are really speech, but product. I agree things are probably not going to get better until long after I am dead.
