I was merely lurking this thread, but, based on your stance on discrimination, what is your stance on affirmative action?

What does this mean, exactly?
Do you consider the practice, as commonly applied today in most western countries, moral? Just? Neccessury? Meaningless? Any other ways you'd describe it?

If I was a pragmatist, I'd say it gives a much needed crutch to a disadvantages group. If I was bound entirely by principle I'd say racial discrimination is bad regardless of the context. Both arguments have merit, which is why I don't really lean either way.
