He doesn't elaborate as to why, so I'll chalk it up to him being a ~70 year old traditionalist who understandably doesn't trust something he doesn't understand.

If he doesn't understand it, why call it very dangerous? I think a better question might be 'dangerous to what / whom?'.

Things you don't understand can often be dangerous, either because they're literally harmful or because they're dangerous if you don't know how to use them properly. If someone doesn't know how to properly secure their crypto wallet and puts all their money into one, and loses it, they're destitute. That's certainly dangerous.

And then there's the wider economic implications. I hate that the fed devalues my money, but they're doing that to both spur the economy at home as well as exercise a form of soft power abroad. If crypto replaces the dollar, they'll lose that power. Personally, I think that's good, but there's a valid argument that says that could have negative repercussions for the US.
