Monero would displace Bitcoin primacy.

Banks can't charge interest on it. The IRS can't tax it. Rich people can't control it. Yup. Better kill it.

None of what you said is remotely true. Crypto is a government controlled project.

The better to track your every transaction.

Exactly. Just like the internet.

This is obviously right-wing propaganda meant to get supporters among the younger demographic. Here's the problem:

increased reporting requirements on cryptocurrency transactions.

This will NOT kill crypto currency.

It's a necessary provision to reduce money laundering, which is a serious problem. If it's not passed in the current bill, it will reappear in another bill later. It does not restrict crypto currency.

The other reason you shouldn't believe this baseless propaganda is that the infrastructure bill is extremely important for the US economy and to help the 99%. Republicans have already run the national debt up to 27 Trillion - by Jan 2021 - mainly by helping themselves (the 1%) to loans from China. The new infrastructure/jobs bill would be the first approach to supporting the 99% in many years. See it as a kind of New Deal.

The libertarian in me says the government needing to track all of my spending is a bigger issue than money laundering.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (18 children)

Your spending is already tracked by corporations.

Laundered money allows a few wealthy people to take $ trillions resources and services without any responsibility or support for those who provide them, increasing income inequality, climate change, and the abuses of a small group of people against billions of people who live increasingly in poverty. It's a scorched-Earth process that rewards the few while the lives of billions are destroyed in the process.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (16 children)

If you pay in cash, dont sign up for reward programs and stay off social media with your real ID then corporations will have a much harder time tracking your spending.

Your blase take on corporate intrusion into our daily life is disconcerting though. Unless your a fascist it should concern you as well.

To be clear, fascism is a far left ideology, so you probably do agree with it.

If you pay in cash

Corporations know approximately how much you earn and where people in your demographic tend to spend money. They don't have to look at you, specifically, nor do they care. They track trends for each demographic. Options for cash payments were also reduced in recent years.

Your blase take on corporate intrusion into our daily life is disconcerting though.

Blasé? Corporate tracking of consumer activity is very easy to study and quite well known. Ask anyone.

Unless your a fascist it should concern you as well.

This doesn't make sense, in the slightest.

To be clear, fascism is a far left ideology, so you probably do agree with it.

False. (Why would anyone believe this?) Look up fascism.

Consoomer trends are not tracking of a single individual. You are conflating the two.

Fascism is the merging of big business (corporations) and big government (the feds). Have you read mein kampf? I have. Hitler hated capitalism. He felt all effort should be put into making the state bigger and stronger.

I didn't mention 'consumer trends' as the tracking agent. I mentioned corporate research on consumer trends.

Fascism is the merging of big business (corporations) and big government (the feds). Have you read mein kampf? I have. Hitler hated capitalism. He felt all effort should be put into making the state bigger and stronger.

Hitler wanted national socialism, and learned about fascism from the Italian Fasces movements and party. I've read portions of Mein Kampf. One of its important sections includes Hitler's impressive design for the Nazi flag, where he states:

In red we see the social idea of the movement, in white the nationalistic idea, in the swastika the mission of the struggle for the victory of the Aryan man, and, by the same token, the victory of the idea of creative work, which as such always has been and always will be anti-Semitic.

Though national socialism in Mein Kampf is not quite fascism, nor was fascism explicitly discussed in Mein Kampf, the Nazi Party converted national socialism to fascism in their practical approaches, which was a process that developed in the 1930s. Mein Kampf was not popular in the 1920s and 1930s. Mussolini also referred to it as "a boring tome that I have never been able to read" and "little more than commonplace clichés". Nazis adopted fascist strategies, which were in the

...form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy, which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe. The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries. Opposed to anarchism, democracy, liberalism, and Marxism, fascism is placed on the far right-wing within the traditional left–right spectrum.

You talk about the pyramid of debate all the time yet you answer is this? It's just a wall of text designed to obfuscate the fact that you, once again, were called out on your bs and, as usual, will not engage in discussing your errors.

It's a polite response to you, rather high on the PoD (why would you think it isn't???), with very good information on the development of National Socialism and Fascism in 1930s Germany. Why to you have to whine? It's sad.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (8 children)

You didnt explain anything though and you literally called fascism right wing. If you had actually red the book instead of choice parts that your favorite websites cherry picked to make a point you would know how wrong you are. Also this is all besides the point because my point was hitler hated capitalism. A point you steadfastly ignored throughout your diatribe. You are probably very educated but poorly learned.

Instead of focusing on the surface of mundane things like the design of the nazi flag, you should read what hitler wrote about why used the Jews as a scapegoat to help him rise to power. You might find some parallels to today that make you feel uncomfortable.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I want to add, and in a separate reply, that you are anything but polite. You are arrogant in your ignorance and your bigotry for those who don't think the same as you (namely that globalist boots taste good) shines brightly through all you politeness and walls of meaningless text.

Cash spending without registering a loyalty card isn't tracked. I know it is getting harder and harder to buy without leaving a trail, but it is possible.

This is a prelude to widespread adoption of cryptocurrencies. Yes, there are regulatory hurdles that will get on our nerves. But in the end it's a good thing.

What, did you think cryptocurrencies would emerge into widespread use without government trying to get its hand in the cookie jar? Come on.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

Lol. Crypto aint going anywhere. When it gets fully implemented all the crypto shills gonna be in for a shock.

TL;DR who pays you to be here? (from s/all/comments)

there doesn't seem to be anything here

I see you're feeding the footwear troll, because replies to that blocked user are also blocked. Yes, you're correct in that comment that there's no point in trying to have a discussion with a troll.

I know how tempting it can be to reply to its outright lies and disingenuous tactics, so I blocked it.
