It was social media that swung the election to Trump. Legitimate, credentialed journalists got caught lying again and again, and their lies were splashed across the world for everyone to plainly see. Moreover the right had many, many solid arguments as to why the left were on the wrong track and we needed an outsider to tell Washington DC "you're fired." What we didn't expect was just how powerless our elected government really was in the face of the unelected government's crushing, illegitimate power.

So obviously afterwards the solution was to cancel free speech so this could never happen again.
