I saw this post on reddit and I couldn't help but think of the last 3 paragraphs of that letter: https://www.reddit.com/r/houston/comments/q9e5az/the_satanic_temple_houstons_3rd_annual/
"look they do good things, and they hate who I hate, so they must be good!" are basically what all the comments say. While promoting literal satanism, as if it's a joke.
Then everywhere, the citizens, obliged to defend themselves against the world minority of revolutionaries, will exterminate those destroyers of civilization, and the multitude, disillusioned with christianity, whose deistic spirits will from that moment be without compass or direction, anxious for an ideal, but without knowing where to render its adoration, will receive the true light through the universal manifestation of the pure doctrine of Lucifer, brought finally out in the public view.
Creeps me the hell out. Cattle gleefully running to the metaphorical slaughter, not realizing what they are entangling themselves with. I expect to see the next decade of normalizing this kind of stuff to the point it becomes a mainstream religion, which will act as a great cover for all those actually doing evil in the name of evil... Catholic church part 2 basically, but worse because there's no pretense of morality in the first place. People are playing with fire by aligning themselves with these organizations and they think it's all jokes and fun and games. "The enemy of my enemy must be my friend!" is terrible reasoning if the enemy owns both sides
