one thing is maybe less are getting the flu cuz of social distancing and masks and lockdowns etc, while that is mainly to stop covid it will stop the regular flu from spreading too. Also people that would be getting the flu right now and then going to doctors who would then report it have already died from covid, 200k dead, that's 200k mainly old people who are not getting the flu right now due to being dead.

In the UK flu cases and deaths are far in excess of covid at the moment and we are much better in masks than the US.
