Australia is a full blown police state. I always wanted to visit the outback, but don't think I'll be going any time soon.

no we definitively have always had a problem with the same sort of nanny state fascism the UK is famous for.

Unlike the UK where cops are completely useless and confined to twitter and facebook; Aussie cops still go after actual street criminals with some aggression. So at least we still have that.
