This is common practice everywhere, even in small business. The influx of illegal immigrants has allowed everyone to get cheap expendable labor.

Here there are many jobs where you just can't work as a native. Employers can have illegal immigrants who don't have to pay taxes so can be hired for less and will put up with everything because they are used to much worse working conditions in their country of origin.
