This is a very interesting theory and I could see some truth behind it. I think there's also a health crisis due to the amount of glyphosate (aka RoundUp) we're ingesting. The GMOs aren't a problem, the problem is the plants are "roundup ready" but the humans eating those plants are not. This also explains the sharp rise in colo-rectal cancer over the last few decades, and also explains why wheat allergies are suddenly so prevalent (matches up with the rise of desiccation, aka spraying the wheat with RoundUp near harvest so the chaff dies quicker)

Between these diet problems, as well as the stress brought on by this ridiculous society's expectations and norms, it's no wonder a large portion of the population is depressed.
