Don't get me wrong, I saw tons of open racism. But, yes, the Triad, the Triangle, and especially obviously Asheville certainly try their best to be "cosmopolitan." And then of course, there's Ocracoke.

But my all time favorite "racis" was my cube mate (different job) who listened to NPR all morning and told me n*** jokes all afternoon. I honestly can't tell you which was worse. Actually I can. I hate NPR but sometimes offensive jokes are funny, even if they are wrong. Eventually, he admitted he didn't really dislike black people and all his best jokes came from his black friends.

Tell me about Okracoke. I've been there many times and I remember my brother telling me that it was hit hard by Dorian. I think racism in the US is a media construct because I just don't see it when I'm there.

I haven't been in awhile. The NC Outer Banks will likely be devastated soon enough. They should barely be there now.

Racism in America is massively better than it used to be and it varies greatly by region. The fact is that America remains "The Grand Experiment." Even with all of the foreigners moving to Europe, America remains the one places where many races legitimately mix.

Sure there are a few morons but not even a quarter of people are even remotely legit racist. I know many people from many backgrounds and races and have for my entire life. It's massively overblown.

Oh, hell yeah. Absolutely. The only problem is thanks to Soros and people like him who can profit by even the supposed hatred. I'm outside the USSA now and out here everybody gets along just fine. We have friends from Ghana, Nigeria, India, Pakistan and, yes, even Iran. We all get along real good. I taught my Iranian friends how to drink vodka with orange juice instead of straight shots and when I mentioned the "tension" between our countries they said, "Politics, just politics." (We comminicate via a third language, not Farsi or English.) People get along fine everywhere unless some artificial, government-imposed nonsense gets in the way. The tension is just there to sell guns and ammunition.

You had me until the last sentence. Everyone gets along just fine here, too. Thanks for asking, tho.
