Well he definitely is now.

I think he created it, and once it got a certain size he got approached by people who offered to make him a billionaire.

That's how these projects usually go, they don't start them from scratch. They just co-opt the people who are on the obvious rise.

It's much more than that. Facebook launched right after DARPA closed a project that it was working on, which was almost identical to Facebook.

For many years, I thought the rise of faceshit is designed, It just too illogical for me: How can people use their real name on internet without hesitate? They setup many mainstream media to help to rise Facebook. Celebrities use Faceshit at early stage,the mainstream media don't report child kidnappers use Faceshit to tracking wealthy kids etc.
