Yes I saw that however the lower half is an advertisment Support independent journalism with a subscription. That pervents us from reading the artical unless we subscribe for $1 a week.

It was probably clownflare where the interface responds as if the upvote was processed but in reality your session timed out, so after a refresh it puts it back.
