I feel based on the law he is innocent, the one guilty is the armorer who is in charge of guns and handed him a loaded weapon.

Then you would have the law work much differently for the Hollywood elite than it would for any other person in this country. If I handed you a loaded gun, assured you it wasn't loaded, and you shot someone with it, "Phooey told me it was OK but I did not bother to check for myself" would not get you off of involuntary manslaughter as someone would have died and it would have been preventable if not for your negligence (Id probably be looking at charges too). There is no legal classification for a 'set weapons experts' as there is for Doctors or lawyers, so they DO NOT assume the responsibilty of Baldwin under any laws on the books to personally safely handle a firearm just because he was making a movie, and some person in charge claimed to be a weapons expert and told him it was safe

There is absolutely NO QUESTION a jury would have to find him guilty as the law is written, this is literally textbook involuntary manslaughter caused by reckless endangerment, which is why they will NOT allow him to ever face these charges

even manslaughter though? 5 years in prison? He's a dumb actor, it's like handing a loaded gun to a child.

I don't think 5 years in prison would solve anything no.

But this is manslaughter, and I don't like the idea that the law treats movies stars differently than others

Involuntary manslaughter is covered under California Penal Code Section § 192(b), and basically occurs when a person kills another unintentionally.

In other words, it's when a person kills someone else, but they did not specifically intend to kill them, and did not kill in a manner that showed a total lack of respect for human life.

This sounds like a pretty accurate description of what happened to me, and a non-movie star would almost certainly be charged with and convicted of involuntary manslaughter in similar circumstances

If only it didn't, but there is a multi-tiered justice system, and he'll get off because people neither understand gun safety nor homicide charges (it's not just for when you mean to kill someone), and the wealthy only get charged if society is angry - we move too fast to stay angry about a topic anymore. How'd Uvalde turn out?

I used to live somewhere where a wealthy drunk doctor coming home from the country club hit a girl on a skateboard going home from her job and killed her (and knew it - he did some crazy suspect shit - cleaning his car at midnight after he found fatty tissue on it, wife went back to the scene, called his lawyer friend at midnight, then ran, etc.).

There was this huge trial with plenty of witnesses. He was acquitted because the lawyers claimed his expensive car was so nice and drove so smooth that he didn't know he "hit anything worth stopping for," let alone a girl he launched a hundred feet, and was therefore innocent.
