You don't have to log in to view reddit unless it's in a private subreddit.

And reddit bans don't prevent you from logging in. The admins can change the password to lock you out, but that's only ever happened to a handful of people.

    I think it is staged. Restaurant is very conveniently devoid of other customers. O'Keefe has been doing this long enough to know you can't just barge in to a restaurant with a camera crew. Restaurant manager would be highly unlikely to lock them all in regardless what the gay guy said, any manager would be telling them to leave.
