I haven't watched it either but the dark side of his character was his love of boys, particularly young, Sri Lankan boys. Where have you been Larry? And did he like to do it on ping pong tables?

There was a documentary where he was seen playing ping pong, and this is a reference to pedophilia (see Pizzagate which uncovered Comet Ping Pong as a locus of pedophilia). It's an inside joke among the perpetrators. It's discussed in this video:

From the top of my head the Arthur C. Clarke segment is about 75% into it. It's very brief. But the whole video is well worth watching, so I recommend you do that instead.

Will watch. I used to work with a guy who went to Sri Lanka every vacation. I knew he was gay so one time he told me that he had been cruising for boys with Clarke in Columbo.

Japanese citizens and residents can travel now but another, complicated, reason is keeping me here for a few more months. It's nothing negative at all.
