This is my question. What do we do with a 24 year old and a 15 year old consensual relationship?

A 15 year old can't consent.

What about when the woman is 24?

A 15 year old boy can't consent either.

Should he go to jail for the rest of his life because he fucked a 15 year old?

In Pennsylvania?

No, he should go to jail for something in the 5-10 year range.

Don't be an idiot of course they can. The law recognizes this when the other person is under 18. A 15 year old having sex with a 17 year old isn't rape unless its actually coerced...because they CAN consent. There is just a magical point at which the other person becomes a certain age and they lose this ability... allegedly.

Not legally.

Depends where you are. But the reason it's statuary rape, is not because they didn't want to consent, it's because the law doesn't recognise that consent.

Some places have Romeo and Juliette laws that make it a lesser crime if they're a similar age.

Some don't.

There is just a magical point at which the other person becomes a certain age and they lose this ability... allegedly.

Sexual development involves mucking about with other kids your own age. It's a journey of discovery. Cutting the corners by being exploited by someone who already knows how it goes when you should be playing does permanent damage to your development because you can't go back and do it right.

Now we are getting somewhere, but that is not what you said.

^ Thats what you said

Yes, but this isn't actually an issue of consent. One could make a similar case for middle age adults legally dating 18 year olds.

Furthermore, it's hilarious that you insist that a 15 year old cannot consent to having sex, but can consent to having gender reassignment surgery.

That's right. Meaning legally.

What the fuck are you taking about?
