See this is exactly what I'm talking about. The human need for revenge is so powerful, you tend to prioritize it above all else, even the very thing you're avenging. It's just an inclination toward evil, like everything else.

You have no more right to do this than Democrats forcing a baker to serve a gay couple. Banning sex-ed from public elementary schools makes perfect sense. But how did we take such a massive leap from that to this? The real reason is obvious: they want to completely criminalize these things just so they get to see liberals seethe, without regard to all the innocent people they're going to persecute to make it happen. I know how it is longing to see "justice served". But are sadistic desires of revenge which accomplish nothing really worth that much, that you abandon everything you once believed in and defended and become tyrants who behave exactly like your own opponent?

Even if it's more about "fighting back" than sadistic revenge, look at Michael Corleone. He entered a life of evil with the good intention of saving his family from criminals. In the end it corrupted him, and he became one of those criminals, and destroyed his family instead. Think of Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side with good intentions. He thought he could save Padme, but ended up being the cause of her death, then became Darth Vader. This is what happens when you just declare "the ends justify the means" and abandon all morality to save something, you become ruthlessly evil and end up destroying what you were trying to save anyway.
