That sounds exactly like what the universe keeps doing to me. This is one reason I know we're in a matrix run by malicious entities, because the universe's dealings are clearly made consciously. This is why I'm so full of self-loathing and guilt for the wrong things, years and years of this crap happening again and again, no matter who or what I run to. It's literally designed to make me go insane. It's a bit better now that I've figured out why this is happening to me, but it's still very damaging when those I love most are used to reinforce it.

The worst is yet to come I think. I've had a gut feeling about an impending Great Abandonment of me for a bit now, and just recently the prophetic SMG4 released a video in which exactly this happens to Mario, over something blatantly petty just like it always is. It ends with "to be continued..." but there are no further videos on it. I take this to mean the continuation is my life. Undoubtedly I'll make some stupid mistake like Mario and everyone will disown me for it, even those who would never think that could happen now.

I'm still not convinced I'm not in a coma and having a really long nightmare. Because that's exactly what it feels like: not quite real, but not fake enough to not care about it. But it's more likely a matrix.

I'm sick and tired of buying lame excuses like "coincidence" or "it only feels that way". And I'm sick of everyone getting laser eyes at me when I won't buy it. There's clearly something going on. I want REAL answers.

I took too many psychoactive substances around 10 years back and went too in deep, have not been quite sure if I'm dead right now as everything has been different since then, but you kind of just roll with it and hope for the best so as not to come across sounding insane.

I've been feeling this way ever since puberty. I think it was the wrong one. But there's loads of other people who have felt the same way since then, with no apparent reason.

When did it start for you? If it was between 2008-13, or 2015-16, you're in good company. A few more people have felt this way since the early 2000s or around 2018.

And if you point it out to anyone, they get laser-aggressive toward you. It's very frightening just how quickly someone who's normally calm and open-minded becomes aggressive toward you on this subject. I think The Matrix explored this idea when they had agents take over people whenever there was a threat to the matrix's integrity; usually something that could expose it as fake.

I'd argue that when the movie was released, there has been unease ever since. But I quickly dismissed it as just being the way it is and just a fun story.

In more recent years I watch the news of world events dubiously, events don't seem to make sense and the subsequent actions are equally as bizarre. The response you speak of resembles the response to conspiracy theories as a whole, when a documented.event is exposed but quickly hidden, people become hostile when pointing out the facts.

The NPC meme become mes surreal when you just stop and watch people go by outside. People not going anywhere or just standing and staring at the wall. Once you notice one, you notice more. They are everywhere.

Or, we simply live in a highly digitalised propaganda machine of a society driven to make us stay edgy and fearful of the apocalypse through brainwashing, like on the movie They Live.

There's definitely a much deeper element to it than "society". Society is a very effective brainwashing tool on most, but it doesn't have metaphysical powers.

Do you ever escape to the coast or countryside where there's no mobile phone service and no traffic or city chaos? But coming back there is a brain fog? City life is toxic.

I don't live in a city. But it doesn't go away if I'm in the most remote place ever, and it all started very suddenly. It's gotten progressively worse since then, but the essence of it came on all at once.

The John le Carre novel Little Drummer Girl takes you through the stages of indoctrination in a delightful way, describing each stage in detail. He was an MI6 officer.
