Seriously? I thought I was massively under estimating by a factor of ten!

I live in a rural area so I have only about 30 local neighbors that are on first name terms with me and stop to chat or wave when they see me. My family, including cousins uncles etc is at least another 30 people. My wife's family is at least another 30 then work collegues and other random friends is god knows how many. I mean I don't do facebook but my wife does and even though she is a shy person she has over 100 people in FB that she knows in real life.

I probably should have said each family surely has 100 people that knows them personally so there should have been something like 50,000 people that were saying they personally knew the SH families.

I lived next to a mom and her son for a decade, we only spoke a handful of times. When she was moving out I told her she was a great neighbor, and she was, she was quiet and kept to herself. I used to be friends with neighbors in the past, they always end up asking for favore and not returning any. Lots of drama too. It's easier to keep distance.
